Tell someone how much they mean to you by giving them a heart. A human heart at that! Unfortunately we can’t go sharing jars of them, but you can fairly quickly make a faux stained glass heart from resin that is lightweight, shatterproof, and unendingly customizable.

What you’ll need:
-Glue gun
-Transparency paper
-Resin (I am currently using Art Resin)
-Acrylic paint
-Image of a heart
-Sharpie
-Mixing cups, stir sticks, and a paint brush
First step, trace or draw an image of a heart onto your transparency paper. Flip the paper over so the ink is on the other side or lay another piece on top.

Trace your image with hot glue. If you wanted to skip a step, buy black hot glue and use that, otherwise when you’re finished and it cools, paint it black. I only did one coat but it’ll show up much better if you take the time to do more. I also was too lazy to paint all the individual lines carefully so I painted everything and scraped off the excess with my nail afterwards. I liked the effect so I left some black in spots and that’s why it’s got that sketchy look to it.

Mix your resin and then separate it into 3 cups. Put a drop of red in one, blue in another, and yellow/orange in the third. Or, colour your heart however you’d like. Pour your resin into each of the glued off areas, careful to avoid mixing.

Once it’s cured, peel it off of the transparency paper and you’re done! You can glue a hang tab to it, or tape it to a card, or stuff it in a jar like old times.
